Device Compatibility Requirements

Edited

To use the new DAB app, your device must meet the minimum operating system (OS) requirements listed below.

If your device does not meet these requirements, the app may not install or may not function properly.

Minimum Operating System Requirements

The DAB app requires the following operating systems:

  • Android: Version 12 or higher

  • Apple iPhone / iPad: Version iOS 14.2 or higher

If your device cannot update to these versions, the app will not be supported.

Devices that stop receiving updates below these versions will not be able to install or run the app properly.

Supported Apple Devices (iPhone)

The following iPhones support modern iOS versions that meet the minimum iOS 14.2 requirement, and are expected to work with the DAB app.

Supported iPhones:

  • iPhone SE (2nd generation, 2020)

  • iPhone SE (3rd generation, 2022)

  • iPhone 11

  • iPhone 11 Pro / Pro Max

  • iPhone 12 / 12 Mini / 12 Pro / 12 Pro Max

  • iPhone 13 / 13 Mini / 13 Pro / 13 Pro Max

  • iPhone 14 Series

  • iPhone 15 Series

  • iPhone 16 Series

  • iPhone 17 Series (and newer)

These devices support modern iOS versions and remain compatible with current Apple updates.

Not Supported Apple Devices

These devices are not supported because they cannot update to newer versions of iOS required by modern apps.

Not Supported iPhones:

  • iPhone 6 — stops at iOS 12

  • iPhone 6 Plus — stops at iOS 12

  • iPhone 6s — stops at iOS 15

  • iPhone 6s Plus — stops at iOS 15

  • iPhone 7 — stops at iOS 15

  • iPhone 7 Plus — stops at iOS 15

  • iPhone 8 — stops at iOS 16

  • iPhone 8 Plus — stops at iOS 16

  • iPhone X — stops at iOS 16

These older devices no longer receive newer major iOS versions and may not support modern applications.

Supported Android Devices (Examples)

The following Android devices support Android 12 or newer, making them compatible with the DAB app.

Supported Android Devices:

  • Samsung Galaxy S10 — supports Android 12

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 — supports Android 13+

These devices continue receiving modern Android updates and support newer apps.

Not Supported Android Devices

These devices are not supported because they stop receiving updates before Android 12.

Not Supported Android Devices:

  • Samsung Galaxy S8 — stops at Android 9

  • Samsung Galaxy S9 — stops at Android 10

  • Samsung Galaxy S10e (some variants) — stops at Android 11

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017) — stops at Android 9

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab E — stops at Android 7

  • Moto G6 — stops at Android 9

  • Moto G7 — stops at Android 10

  • Google Pixel 2 — stops at Android 11

  • Google Pixel 3 — stops at Android 12 (may be limited)

These devices cannot update to Android 12 or higher, which is required for the app.

Why Some Devices Are Not Supported

Some older devices are not supported because:

  • Manufacturers stop releasing updates after several years

  • Older devices cannot upgrade to Android 12 or iOS 14.2

  • Newer apps require modern security and performance features

  • Unsupported devices may not install the app at all

Operating system updates are controlled by Apple and Android manufacturers, not the app itself.
